Humber Federation Governors

Welcome to the Governors section of the school website. Mrs Cathy Logan is the Chair of the Governing Board within the federation. The Chair leads a dedicated team of Governors who give their time and expertise to the school.

The  governors make collective decisions as part of the Board whose main function is to help raise the educational standards and performance of the three schools by supporting the work of the Executive Headteacher and staff. Governors make important decisions on how a school will be run.

Some of the things expected of governors include:

  • Promoting high standards of achievement
  • Planning the school’s long-term future
  • Setting the school’s aims, values and ethos
  • Budgetary allocation and control
  • Appointing senior staff

The Humber Estuary Federation - Governor Starategic Vision

Welcome to the Governors section of the school website. Mrs Cathy Logan is the Chair of the Governing Board within the federation. The Chair leads a dedicated team of Governors who give their time and expertise to the school.

The  governors make collective decisions as part of the Board whose main function is to help raise the educational standards and performance of the three schools by supporting the work of the Executive Headteacher and staff. Governors make important decisions on how a school will be run.

Our goals are:

  • To provide excellent teaching and learning for all, across the three schools within the Federation
  • To be recognised as the schools of choice for our local communities (having a good reputation and being recommended)
  • To provide effective governance as a lever for school improvement

We believe that this will be achieved by earning a reputation for excellence in everything which we do. This means:

  • excellent educational outcomes for our children both academically and socially
  • a broad and balanced curriculum which is exciting and engaging and meets the needs of our children
  • ensuring that our pupils are well prepared for the next stages in education and in life
  • positive relationships with our parents/carers who are engaged and support their children in all aspects of their learning
  • recruiting, retaining and developing the best classroom practitioners and school leaders
  • visionary leadership and governance

Governors Diversity Information

As a school we recognise that a diversity of thought, voices and perspectives is essential to good governance and the effective running of any organisation. We regularly collect diversity information from our governors and, depending on current data, can use this to:

  • target recruitment to address gaps in experience and diversity
  • develop and adapt board practices to ensure full participation
  • prioritise training and awareness-raising in identified areas
  • address potential ‘blind spots’ through seeking wider advice and perspectives on current and upcoming opportunities, challenges and risks

However, we are unable to publish this information as it would mean that individual members of our governing body are identifiable.
